Eighth Global Environment Facility Assembly

The Eighth Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly is the GEF’s highest decision-making forum, convening representatives from all 186 member countries every four years. It brings together ministers, government officials, civil society, Indigenous Peoples, the private sector, youth, and environmental leaders from around the world to review GEF policies and performance, assess results of GEF-funded projects, and set priorities for future action.
The Assembly provides a unique platform to shape collective responses to global environmental challenges such as biodiversity loss, climate change, pollution, and land degradation, while strengthening international cooperation and alignment with United Nations environmental conventions.
