Who can apply?
Civil society actors from eligible Asia–Pacific countries who are members of the GEF CSO Network, or who have implemented or participated in a GEF-funded project. This includes involvement in GEF Small Grants Programme, SCCF, LDCF, or GBFF projects. Applicants should be actively engaged in environmental, climate, or biodiversity-related work and able to contribute meaningfully to the workshop.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of application. There is no upper age limit. Intergenerational representation is encouraged.
Do applicants need prior experience with the GEF?
Preferably yes. Priority will be given to applicants familiar with GEF processes, projects, or country programming, to ensure productive and informed discussions during the ECW.
Do I need a passport or travel document?
Yes. Due to limited time, applications from individuals who do not hold a valid passport or other official travel document that allows travel to Fiji will not be accepted. Applicants must be able to travel internationally within the required timeframe.
Is there a cost to apply or to join the CSO Network?
No. There is no cost to apply for this opportunity. There is also no fee to become a member of the GEF CSO Network.
Is the workshop fully funded?
Yes. Selected CSO delegates will be fully funded, including international airfare, accommodation, and a daily subsistence allowance.
How many participants will be selected per country?
The GEF CSO Network aims to select and submit at least one nominee per eligible country. Final numbers depend on the total nominations received across all non-state stakeholder groups.
When will selected applicants be informed?
Selected participants are expected to be informed by mid-January 2026.
